Description
Shockstar is a lightly raced 3yo Shocking gelding with a career record of 5: 0-1-0.
Displaying early ability in New Zealand as a 2yo, Shockstar was initially purchased on the back of a trial win at Avondale in May 2022. He ran strong time for the day (60.84 - the fastest of 8 x 1000m heats).

Since arriving in Australia in mid-2022 Shockstar has failed to translate the early ability he demonstrated in his trackwork over to the track come race day.
After commencing his most recent preparation with a good return at Sale when trapped wide and making a sustained run he then finished a narrow 2nd at Ballarat second up.
The horse then battled on two heavily affected surfaces and his ownership group have elected to move him on.
He would benefit from a change to a smaller stable environment and racing in a weaker jurisdiction to bring out his best. Shockstar went to the paddock sound at the end of June and would be ready to commence work following this auction.
