Thida is a lightly raced 4yo mare by the champion sire Lord Kanaloa.
Thida is currently in training with Danny O’Brien and last raced at Seymour on the 6th June in a maiden over 1418m where she didn’t appreciate the heavy going. In Thida’s three starts to date she hasn’t shown metropolitan standard and is being sold to make way for new horses owned by the current owner.
Thida is by champion Japanese sire Lord Kanaloa. To date Lord Kanaloa is the sire of 42 stakes winners including Group 1 Champion Almond Eye and Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner Tagaloa. Thida is out of the Daiwa Major mare Sanako who raced in Japan and is a half sister to Group 3 winner Sweet Salsa. Sanako has a 3yo by The Autumn Sun in training with Annabel Neasham, a 2yo filly by Zoustar with Danny O’Brien, a yearling colt by Bivouac to sell at the 2024 yearling sales and is currently in foal to Trapeze Artist. Thida is the first foal of Sanako and you have all these quality matings to work for you in the future.
The mare is well put together with plenty of quality to her. Thida has a great temperament and is easy to do anything with around the stable including float, tie up in stalls, shoe and in track work.
Thida stands approximately 16hh and weighs 450kg and is available for vet inspections at the Flemington stable of Danny O”Brien Racing prior to the conclusion of the auction.
