Description
Brooke’s Edge is young mare with a huge amount of commercial appeal at the beginning of a very exciting breeding career.
As a yearling she was sold through the Inglis Easter sale with her subsequent price tag of $250,000 a representation of the physical qualities she possesses. Unfortunately, she never made it to the races herself but she is from a very contemporary family, with a pedigree that continues to strengthen on both sides of the ledger.
Being by the ill-fated Hinchinbrook, this already makes Brooke’s Edge somewhat of a limited offering to begin with on sheer numbers alone. Having established himself as a sire of the highest quality racing stock on an international level, Hinchinbrook continues to assert his influence as a sire of the highest quality broodmares as well. To date his daughters have produced 78 starters for 44 individual winners at a strike rate of 56.4% and prizemoney earnings in excess of $8 million. Some of these include Gr2 and multiple Gr3 winner SEJARDAN, Hong Kong Gr3 winner CORDYCEPS SIX and Gr3 winning mare WOLLOMBI.
On her female side it just gets better. The pedigree of her dam, Couredge all but fills the first page of the pedigree on her own. A winning sister to SATANG and half sister to VINTEDGE and YOUTHS EDGE, she had six foals to race for 5 winners. The most notable being EVERY ROSE who won the Gr2 Light Fingers and Gr3 Gimcrack whilst being Group and stakes placed on multiple other occasions. EVERY ROSE was sold for $1.3 million in 2021 through the Inglis Digital online sales platform and was covered last season by Zoustar.
Brooke’s Edge is currently not in foal but now has a yearling colt by Zoustar as well, who sold for $140,000 as a weanling through this years Magic Millions National weanling sale.
Brooke's Edge has been double rugged and under lights since the 3rd July 2023, in readiness for the upcoming season.
