Description
Apart from being particularly well related, Arranmore was a very talented Sydney race mare.

A Randwick and Warwick Farm winner, Arranmore was a further six-times placed in Sydney (Warwick Farm (three-times), Canterbury (twice) and Randwick (Kensington)).
.
In her first racing preparation as an early Spring 3yo, she won over 1100m at Randwick (Good 4), as well as placing second over 1200m at Warwick Farm (Soft 6) to subsequent Group 1 winner Espiona.

In her second preparation, Arranmore placed over 1200m at Warwick Farm (Heavy 8) behind subsequent dual Group 3 winner and $1.7m earner Vilana.

And in January this year, Arranmore won a BM72 F&M over 1400m at Warwick Farm (Good 3), before running second (beaten 0.7 len, and giving away 1kg) to the high-class 3yo filly Wollombi, who two starts later went on to win the VRC Vanity Stakes (Group 3) at Flemington.

Arranmore is a daughter of Astern, a stallion who has made us all stand up and take notice within the past twelve months. Through the deeds of 2022/23 season Group 1 winners Golden Mile and Affaire A Suivre, as well as Group winners Aft Cabin, Seradess and Parisal, Astern rocketed into the top 25 stallions on last season’s Australian Sires List, with Capitalist ($77,000 fee) and Maurice ($88,000 fee) being the only third-season sires higher up on the list.

Arranmore is out of the prolific broodmare Rathlin Island, a mare who has produced 9 winners from 12 named foals. Her winners have been headed by Champion NZ 2yo and Group 1 winner Warhorse, as well as the stakes placed Epona Princess.

There is a huge amount of recent activity under Arranmore’s first dam. So, whoever purchases her is an excellent chance of being well rewarded by future upgrades to her pedigree page. Some of the highlights include:

And on the racing front over the past several months, Zee Falls, already a Group 3 winner, has added further black type to the pedigree, as well as Battleton (a winner in Sydney last month); Hissy Fit (placed second twice in Melbourne in July and August); and Dulverton Charm (a 2020 colt by Charm Spirit), a Hawkesbury trial winner who looks to possess well above average ability.

Arranmore has been retired from racing and is being offered for genuine unreserved sale as a broodmare prospect. She is measured to stand 15.2 1/2hh. She is a well conformed mare with nice scope and strength. She is reported to have no vices. She is presently in good health and condition, and as you can see from the attached breeding soundness certificate, she has already cycled, hence giving her purchaser the added bonus of being able to get her covered early in the season.
