Essential Sky herself was a dual metropolitan winner, producing wins at both Warwick Farm and Kensington last Spring. The form from her Warwick Farm win has proved very strong, with subsequent Listed Winter Cup winner Al Aabir finishing 8th and subsequent Jericho Cup winner Bastida finishing 3rd. At her last start, Essential Sky produced an impressive performance to finish 5th in the Group 2 Brisbane Cup.
Essential Sky is by dual Group One winner Reliable Man, sire of 22 individual stakes winners, and he is already making his mark as a broodmare sire, with 44% winners to runners.
She hails from a quality family and is a direct female descendant of quality broodmare influence, Source Sucree. Essential Sky is a daughter of an unraced Galileo mare, who is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Stormhill. She is a granddaughter of quality mare November Rain, winner of the VRC, AJC and Queensland Oaks. This quality family is littered with stakes winners, and looks ready to produce another.
