Old Memories has been broken in and educated by Thenford Farm (Exeter, NSW), and is ready to commence her career as a racehorse. Or should the buyer wish, she could retire straight to stud.

Beautifully bred, being by Merchant Navy, out of a half-sister to Group 1 winner Zomaradah, dam of the exceptional racehorse and sire Dubawi.

Merchant Navy was one of Australia’s leading second crop sires last season. He was one of only three second crop stallions to have sired a Group 1 winner, the others being Russian Revolution and Invader. He was equal second for the number of Group winners (2) with Hellbent, behind only Russian Revolution. It is worth noting that his main flagbearers to date have both been fillies - Royal Merchant (SAJC Goodwood Hcp – Group 1) and Steel City (ATC Magic Night Stks – Group 3).

Old Memories is a half-sister to five winners including English stakes placed 3yo filly Remember. Her dam is a half-sister to four winners including Group 1 winner Zomaradah, dam of Champion racehorse and currently one of the world’s greatest stallions in Dubawi. Dubawi was Champion Sire in UK/Ireland in 2022, taking the crown from Frankel in the process. He has sired over 260 stakes winners, 54 Group 1 winners including names well known in these parts such as Tiger Tees, Monterosso, Secret Admirer, Srikandi, Shamal Wind, Too Darn Hot, Night of Thunder, Ghaiyyath, Makfi, etc, etc.

Her granddam is a half-sister to Champion British 3yo and English Derby winner High-Rise. Also, under her granddam is the 2023 Royal Ascot stakes winner Royal Champion. This is a particularly productive family with other Group 1 winners such as High Hawk (Italy), In the Wings (UK), Virginia Waters (UK), Chachamaidee (Ire), Space Blues (USA), Infamy (Can), Diamanta (Ger), and Second Coming (NZ), also coming from her female line.

Old Memories is measured to stand 15.3 3/4 HH. She is a good doing filly, with no reported vices. The farm where she currently resides reports that they sedate her when a farrier trims her hind feet. A large splint has formed on the inside of her right-fore cannon.
