SLEEPING LION is a 3YO gelding by young hot sire RUSSIAN REVOLUTION. He is out of five-time winner and Stakes performer PINDAN PEARL, a half-sister to G1 Coolmore Classic winner HEAVENS ABOVE.
Sleeping Lion was purchased at the 2022 Classic Yearling Sale for $160,000.
With only two crops to the races, RUSSIAN REVOLUTION is the sire of recent G1 winner COMMUNIST, as well as Group winners Revolutionary Miss, Red Resistance, Rise of the Masses, Russian Alliance & Libertad. Leading first season sire in 2021-22, RUSSIAN REVOLUTION is by the Champion sire SNITZEL and stands at Newgate for $88,000.
The horse is trained by Paul Perry and is based in Newcastle.
The horse has just been gelded and currently spelling @ Harmony Park Somersby.
