Description
Milwaukee Belle is a proven mare by Bel Esprit in foal to one of the hottest young sires around in SUPIDO. Bel Esprit was noted as being an exceptional sire of fillies, and it’s unsurprising that he is leaving his mark as a successful broodmare sire. His mares have produced the likes of superstar Hong Kong galloper Beauty Generation, Gr.1 winner and now highly regarded sire Ole Kirk as well as the Gr.1 winner Costa Viva and Gr.1 performed sprinter Swats That to name just a few. With Bel Esprit now retired, we can only assume that his broodmares will become more and more sought after.
A two time winner sprinter herself, she hails from a very fast, precocious family including the dual Gr.1 winner Chortle, the smart four time winning 2yo Golden Trice and the evergreen WA sprinter and million dollar earner Rock Magic. Her only named foal is a five time sprint winner with earnings of over $100,000 and has a 2yo full sister to soon commence her racing career. With plenty of upside to come, Milwaukee Belle also has a yearling colt by Zousain. Zousain’s first crop of yearlings were the talk of the sales circuit this year averaging over seven times service fee!
Milwaukee Belle is being sold in foal to SUPIDO, expecting to foal mid October. An insanely fast sprinter on the track, SUPIDO regularly left time and sectional analysts searching for superlatives, especially down the Flemington straight where he really came alive rather like FASTNET ROCK, EXCEED AND EXCEL & NORTHERN METEOR did as racehorses. Early indications suggest he’s passing his fast genes to his progeny. Last year as a 2nd season sire, he finished with a higher winners to runners percentage than both Russian Revolution and Hellbent. He’s currently operating at close to 50% winners to runners, an incredible achievement for such a young sire!
Already the sire of 31 individual winners from limited starters, including the hugely talented Gr.1 placed BUENOS NOCHES, a mightily impressive last start winner of the Gr.3 Show County he advertised his EVEREST credentials in no uncertain terms. He is also the sire of the outstanding unbeaten WHAT YOU NEED! The sky is the limit for this untapped colt, who easily accounted for a strong field when last seen in the Listed Sunlight Classic down the Flemington straight and it’s difficult not to imagine him mixing it with the best sprinters in the Country sooner rather than later.
There is no doubt that SUPIDO looks a young sire of serious potential and has the best days ahead of him. With the best part of 600 mares covered in his first six seasons at stud, 170 of those were covered last year, representing his biggest and best book of mares to date. He has MASSIVE upside and a genuine chance of siring at least two Gr.1 winners this season!
