Description
This yearling filly by Brutal is out of the Elusive City mare Rose Memory.
Nicknamed “The Beast’ as a racehorse, Brutal was exceptionally talented on track. On just his first career start, he blitzed a strong 2YO field at Caulfield and won by 5 lenghts. Brutal went on to win the Group 1 Doncaster in fewer starts than any other horse in history.
Brutal himself has had an excellent start to his career at stud with yearlings having sold up to $320,000 in 2023. He was also represented at the first 2YO trials with a filly called Totoka who trialled exceptionally well and is expected to line up in the 1000m Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes next Saturday (30 September).
Rose Memory is from a deep international black type family and a half to Group 2 winner Chater Dream. She is in foal to Wootton Bassett on an October cover which means the resulting foal will be bred on the exact same cross as Swettenham stallion Wooded and G1 winning 2YO Bucanero Fuerte. Her first foal in Australia is Kingsheir who is a multiple city winner and is still running in metro races this Spring for trainer Kim Waugh. The 3YO half sister by Kodiac is in training with Chris Waller.
