BLACK IVORY is a lightly raced 5 year old mare having had 12 starts for 3 wins and is by Champion Sire & Broodmare Sire REDOUTE'S CHOICE from an excellent international family.

She's shown ability to add more wins to her record however after her first up run this time in she performed below expectations and was subsequently found to be suffering from 'kissing spine' which is likely aggravating her under gallop pressure. The Vet has recommended that if she shall return to racing she would need to undergo surgery and the recovery period from the surgery is around 4 months.

Alternatively she can be sent straight to stud as she's a regally bred mare from a strong International family.

She was an Easter quality yearling and subsequent private purchase off Arrowfield Stud in 2020, she is by champion stallion REDOUTE'S CHOICE out of a Deep Impact mare who is a sister to Multiple Group 1 winner WORLD PREMIERE, Dual Group winner WORLD ACE and half sister to Dual Group winner WELTREISENDE. She is also the half-sister to 3 winners including City winner & stakes performed Grand Piano as well as two 2yo winners in Japan.

Second Dam Mandela was a stakes winner over a trip and is a half sister to Champion 2YO in Germany in MANDURO. He was undefeated as a 5 year old, he won three Group 1s in succession and 10 races overall.

Furthermore, Black Ivory's 3/4 sister in DERIVE sold for $290,000 online last year to Yulong Stud and has a filly foal at foot to Group 1 Blue Diamond winner TAGALOA.

Her other 3/4 sister in SUKOON sold for $80,000 unraced via the Magic Millions Broodmare sale last year and she too was bred to TAGALOA with a colt foal at foot born early this season.

A well bred young mare and magnificent physical type, Black Ivory had ability on the track and will make a fine addition to any commercial broodmare band, alternatively, with surgery and a return to her best form, she can continue racing and is capable of winning at QLD metro level where she is currently based.

Weighs in at 536kg and stands at 16.1hh. Independent vet inspections are welcome.
