Description

This is an opportunity to purchase a broodmare by the legendary Lonhro out of the family of Apache Cat.

Lonhgeline is a 13 year old mare in excellent condition.

She is by Lonhro whose influence as a broodmare sire is amply illustrated by his daughters producing more than 100 group winning horses to date. These include, for example, So Si Bon, Osborne Bulls, Golden Mile and Aft Cabin. In this season, the offspring of his daughters have amassed, to date, more than $3m in prize money, with 66 winners, including 2 stakewinners. In season 2023, these numbers were more than more $11 million in prize money, 187 winners with 11 stakeswins.

Her dam is a half-sister to the sprinter Apache Cat, winner of 8 Group 1 races.

Lonhgeline herself showed plenty of ability in training but sadly her career on the racetrack was hampered by a throat condition.

She is the dam of five foals, two of which died pre-racing age.

Of the remainder, two are currently racing and have shown themselves to be handy horses. They are both winners on the competitive Victorian provincial tracks and one is city placed. Her fifth foal is a colt yearling by Astern and will be offered at the Inglis Premier sale in 2023.

The owners are selling reluctantly. They have owned her for her entire life but are now too advanced in years themselves to continue breeding.
