Description
A lovely bodied yearling colt with a quality head, by exciting young sire WRITTEN BY. He is out of the 2-time winning PINS mare SPERANTA, herself half-sister to Group 3 winner SEMARI (6 wins from 1600-2050m & $213,665). This is the family of Group 1 winner SHARVASTI, Stakes Winner & multiple Group 1 placed VEDODARA, Group 3 winner & Group 1 placed SHASTRI and Group 3 winner & dual Group 1 placed ERIC THE EEL, among others.
SPERANTA was a $410,000 Easter Yearling Sale graduate herself and is the dam of 4 foals. Her 3YO by WRITTEN BY called THAT’S THE WORD ran an excellent 4th of 12 at Pakenham on debut in August when well in the market and there is an unraced 2YO full-sister named KORIMAKO also in the Grahame Begg yard. SPERANTA is due to foal to this season’s fully booked stallion SUPIDO in November.
This colt is bred on the same Written Tycoon x Pins cross as 2023 2YO Group 2 winner LAZZAGO.
By the outstanding Champion 2YO son of champion sire Written Tycoon, WRITTEN BY, who has had a fantastic start to his stallion career and continues to impress with his progeny in the sale ring. With his first crop of 2YOs he was able to sire four stakes performers, more than Snitzel could achieve with his first crop! This included the outstanding unbeaten group winner THE NOVELIST who remains a very exciting prospect going forward.
WRITTEN BY has continued in a rich vein of form with his 3YOs this season by siring ten individual winners already, making him a leading second season sire. He certainly looks to have an exciting future ahead of him, which is likely why his yearlings have remained in high demand this year.
