Description

Offered on an unreserved basis is this athletic first foal out of the 3 time winning Dundeel mare, Land Ahoy, bred along similar lines (Fastnet Rock x Snippets stallions over Zabeel and Saddlers Wells line mares) and matching to a great degree to the likes of Castlereagh Kid and Williamsburg.

The Merchant Navy G1 winner, Royal Merchant and winner again in the Magic Millions 3/4yo stakes on Wednesday, is also out of a Saddlers Wells mare.

This well conformed filly currently stands at 14.3hh and is undergoing a growth spurt with more to come.

‘Tassie’, named by virtue of the tasmanianesque patch on her head, was purchased at the Australian Weanling Sales from the Coolmore draft as a paddock companion for our only filly. With that filly off to the sales, job done and rather than hold her back fro the later yearling sales, we consider now is the time for her to head to new owners to look toward her racing career.

Coolmore advised, at the time of purchase, that the filly had spotless x-rays and there is no reason to suspect there would be any change to that initial report.

With his oldest progeny being just 4yo, Merchant Navy is doing the job on the track, a bit of a quiet achiever, recording near 30% winners to runners thus far this season, on a par with the likes of Zoustar, Vinnie, Deep Field, Written Tycoon etc.
