Description
This young maiden mare is a daughter of Golden Slipper victor Capitalist, himself a son of Champion Sire Written Tycoon, and already the sire of 16 SWs including Gr1 winner Captivant.
Noble Peony is a half-sister to Sadler’s Lake, a Group winner for Chris Waller in both Sydney and Brisbane and 4th in the Queensland Derby less than 1.5 lengths from the winner. Her dam is Mingshan, a former $750k yearling and an Encosta de Lago daughter of SP Shalang, a half-sister to the brilliant Shame, a Gr1 winner at 2 of the Queensland Sires’ Produce Stakes and at 3 of the One Thousand Guineas, and later the dam of Caulfield Group winner Demerit.
Noble Peony, a Danehill-free mare who could be mated to just about any stallion, sells in foal on one cover to Hitotsu, the first horse to complete the 3YO Gr1 Triple Crown of VRC Derby/Australian Guineas/Australian Derby since 1994. Hitotsu is a son of leading Japanese shuttle sire Maurice, sire of 4 Gr1 winners to date.
Noble Peony is currently shod RF foot due to a dorsal hoof crack. This is growing out well as can be seen in the photo.
