Description
Venetian Blue is 4-year-old mare by Merchant Navy out of the Group 2 winning and Group 1 placed Mastercraftsman mare, Thunder Lady. Her dam is a half-sister to Fleur d’Amour who is the dam of Group 3 winner and Group 1 placed, Princess Kereru. Her first and second dam have produced multiple Black Type horses and she is from the same family as Group 1 winner, Levendi, and Group 1 Australian Oaks winner, Tully Thunder.
Venetian Blue has 13 starts to her name for 2 wins and 4 placings. She broke her maiden over 1600m at Wyong on a Heavy track and notched up her second win at Warwick Farm over 2130m on a Soft track, beating her stablemate, Okataina. Her most recent start came on 1st January over 1900m on a Soft track at Canterbury where she finished mid-field. She is a filly with plenty of residual value given her pedigree and physical make-up.
Please note she is currently 2 weeks into a recommend 8-week spell. Radiographs taken on 2nd January revealed she has osteophyte production in her proximal sesamoid bones and flattening of the condyle of the cannon bone in her fetlock joint. Vet report attached.
