Description

Foujita is a 5 year old gelding by Leading First Season sire in Japan Duramente, out of a Sea The Stars mare, Villiers La Bacle, who is a half-sister to Beach Bunny who is the dam of Group 1 winner, Dubai Mile. He is also closely related to Gai and Adrian’s Group 2 Shannon Stakes winner, Surf Dancer.

Foujita was purchased from the 2019 Japan Select Sale and is lightly raced with just 2 starts to his name over 1200m. He injured his near fore SDFT on 24th June 2022 and completed the recommended spell period of 6-9months for the lesion to heal. He was rescanned on 17th March 2023 and was given the all clear to return to pre-training.

Since returning to full training Foujita has trailed twice at Randwick however his temperament and barrier manners have hindered him from progressing onto the races. Foujita will benefit from a change of scenery in a smaller racing environment.
