Sky Island is a well-related daughter of leading international broodmare sire, High Chaparral.

A pedigree that will continue to grow, as she has left female progeny by some of the best stallions in the world such as FRANKEL and SNITZEL. In 2023, her daughter of SNITZEL was covered by WRITTEN TYCOON, and her daughter of FRANKEL, Madrean, was covered by TAGALOA.

Sky Island’s younger stock has started to impress on the track, her son by Grunt, named Connors, is trained by Simon Wilde and has trialled up a winner. Other progeny includes a daughter of Australia’s Leading First Season Sire, ALABAMA EXPRESS named Puff Cloud has been retained by Yulong Stud and is in work with Hawkes Racing.

This Colt at foot is by our exciting young sire in Lucky Vega. An exceptional juvenile, LUCKY VEGA claimed the G1 Curragh Phoenix Stakes and placed 2nd in the G1 Newmarket Middle Park Stakes. As a three-year-old, he claimed placings at the elite level, including the G1 2000 Guineas and G1 Royal Ascot St James Palace Stakes.

Lucky Vega’s first crop of yearlings has been well supported by the market, selling upwards of $160,000 to leading buyers such as Annabelle Neasham, Baystone Thoroughbreds, Darby Racing, Bjorn Baker, Prime Thoroughbreds and Gollan Racing / John Foote. Such as the quality of his stock, he finished the 2024 Inglis Sydney Classic sale with 100% clearance.
