Description:
Artezza is a lightly raced three-year-old filly by Hellbent who is still lightly-raced having had just the two starts. She has had a good grounding from a young age and has had the benefit of being trained out of Sydney, Melbourne and Queensland. She was given time and displayed an encouraging performance on debut but unfortunately hasn’t gone on with it and has been struggling against stronger opposition, particularly at metropolitan grade. It hasn’t been an easy decision but the ownership group are after better graded horses hence the reason for this sale and she will be sold unreserved.
Artezza is a nice type, and that’s reflected in her $200,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling, putting her in the top dozen selling fillies in Hellbent's second crop.
By Hellbent, a son of multiple Champion Australian Sire I Am Invincible. Hellbent is definitely an up and coming young stallion who is currently Australia's leading third crop sire (over $1 million ahead of Russian Revolution on the sire's list), and presently in the top ten active Australian Sires in the 2023-24 season. His fillies in particular have met with great success, with Magic Time, Benedetta, Kristilli and last Saturday's Sydney Group 2 winner Hell Hath No Fury leading the charge for him.
Out of a daughter to superstar stallion Galileo, Champion UK/Ire Sire on no fewer than 12 occasions, and Champion UK/Ire Broodmare Sire for the past 4 years. His daughters have produced the stakes winners of nearly 600 races worldwide. In Australia, Galileo mares have produced more than a dozen Group 1 winners including the likes of The Autumn Sun, Tofane, Invincibella, Snapdancer and Unforgotten.
Artezza comes from one of the best female lines in the world today, that of Best in Show. Over 20 Champion racehorses descend from her and include the likes of Redoute's Choice & Shoals (Australia), Almond Eye (Japan), El Gran Senor, Peeping Fawn, Xaar, & Spinning World (Europe) and in the USA, Idiomatic (2023 Champion US Mare), & Arcangelo (Champion US 3yo Colt).
