Description
QUILATE + 2023 JONKER X QUILATE
Quilate is an eleven-year-old mare being offered for sale with a filly at foot by promising young sire Jonker. Quilate is a Group 3 winner of the Lady’s Day Vase, defeating subsequent Group 1 winner Prompt Response. By Bramshaw, an unraced half-brother to Commands, she has had just one foal to the races with this filly being only her third foal. Commands is the broodmare sire of five individual Group 1 winners including this year’s Blue Diamond Stakes winner Hayasugi, while Bramshaw is the broodmare sire of unbeaten colt Sovereign Hill.
Jonker is the winner of the Group 1 Manikato Stakes and exhibited extraordinary speed throughout his career. He also boasts victory in the Magic Millions Snippets, along with a track record breaking win in the Listed Keith Noud at Doomben. He attracted plenty of interest at his first season standing for $16,500 and there is little doubt that his first season of yearlings will be very popular next year.
Quilate stands at approximately 15.2 hands high. She is an attractive mare and with a lot of natural strength and quality.
The 2023 Jonker x Quilate filly is a medium sized, strong bodied foal with nice balance. She is a racy type with a good length to her hip and hindquarter. The foal had screws removed from both front fetlocks on Friday 15 March.
