On the racetrack, The Mission – by sire of sires Choisir – was an outstandingly tough 2YO, and a two and a half-length winner of the Gr.3 ATC Schweppervescence Handicap, before ending his juvenile campaign with a dominant win in the Gr.1 ATC Champagne Stakes, a race won in the past by Gr.1 producing sires Pierro, Prized Icon, Viscount and Helmet.
At three he was beaten less than two lengths in the Gr.1 ATC All Aged Stakes at Randwick by Trapeze Artist and Redzel under weight-for-age conditions in a race run in track-record time.
Out of a Redoute’s Choice mare, just like the successful Gr.1 sire Zoustar, The Mission is the ONLY Gr.1-winning, Champion 2YO by his sire at stud in Australia.
In 2023 The Mission covered 25 mares with 23 of those testing positive at 45 days, achieving an exceptional fertility rate of 92%
