Description
This attractive Merchant Navy filly has clean x rays and scope. She was bought by current owners as a weanling and turned out onto improved pasture and given every chance to grow into a lovely yearling, which is exactly what happened. She has had everything done properly her whole life including trimming and worming every 6 weeks, and has been through a weanling and yearling prep giving her valuable education and exposure. She was taken through this years Vobis Gold sale and did not meet reserve so instead came home and was broken in and given 6 rides before being turned out for a well deserved spell. During the breaking in process this filly did everything right and took it all in her stride giving no trouble and never bucking.
She is by the extremely talented and well bred Merchant Navy who is an extremely consistent sire, providing winners nearly daily. He has progeny with top trainers such as Ciaron Maher, Leon and Troy Corstens and the Freedman’s. This ensures that his progeny are given every chance to excel on the race track. He has also sired the speedy group 1 winner in Royal Merchant. Royal Merchant is out of a 3 time winner of 100k. This filly’s dam Land Ahoy herself is a 3 time winner of nearly 80k therefore profiling very similarly to Royal Merchant.
Land Ahoy won three races in a row and is out of champion sire Dundeel who is one of only 2 stallion the country to have a price increase this breeding year. The Dundeel/Fastnet Rock (Merchant Navy’s sire) cross is exceptional providing 6% runner to stakes winners.
