A yearling colt for sale by Alpine Eagle, Tasmania’s Champion Sire for the 2022/23 season, and likely Champion Sire for the 2023/24 season.

Alpine Eagle’s progeny has won in excess of $2.5 million this season, headlined by the multiple Group/Listed Race winner The Map. He is also the sire of leading Tasmanian 3yo Alpine Wolf, and the Melbourne stakes placed 2yo Eye of the Eagle.

Alpine Eagle has sired over 60 winners to date, with nearly one-third of these winners being $100,000+ earners on the track.

This colt is the third living foal of Santolaya, a daughter of the top-class sire Not a Single Doubt, sire of 83 SW’s incl. Farnan (ATC Golden Slipper). Not A Single Doubt is now fast becoming one of Australia’s top broodmare sires, recently climbing into the top 20 on the Broodmare Sire’s list. In the 2023/24 season, his daughters have already produced 8 SW’s which includes the likes of Seonee (Gr.2), Schwarz (Gr.3), Gumdrops (Gr.3), Archo Nacho (Gr.3), and the Listed Race winners Ripcord ($914,000), Insurrection, Katsu, and High Octane.

The colt’s grand dam is by the legendary Encosta De Lago, twice Champion Australian Sire and 4 times Champion Australian Broodmare Sire (he has finished in the top 10 for the past 12 seasons).

The black type in this colt’s family appears close up in the form of the very smart WA galloper Brooklyn Bridge, a Gr.3 winner of the WATC JC Roberts Stakes, and Gr.1 placed in the WATC Fruit ‘n’ Veg Stakes. And then followed by another high-class performer in King of Brooklyn, winner of the Gr.3 SAJC Thomas Elder Hcp, and Gr.1 placed in the VRC LKS Mackinnon Stakes.

This strongly made well balanced colt was recently measured to stand 15.1 ½ hands high. He has a great temperament and no reported vices. He has been raised on Tasmania’s leading nursery, Armidale Stud (Mystic Journey, Soul Patch, Lady Lynette, Hellova Street, Deroche, etc, etc) from birth, so has been given a tremendous start to his life.
