Description
Queen Of Bordeaux is a 4YO mare by Pierro out of the Fastnet Rock mare, Guangdong. This mare hails from the same family as multiple Group 1 winner Alligator Blood and her second dam Kylikwong came 2nd in the Group 1 VRC Oaks and Group 1 SAJC Australasian Oaks and she has produced 11 foals to race for 8 winners. Tracy’s Element, Champion 2YO Filly and Older Mare in South Africa and Typhoon Tracy, Horse Of The Year in 2009-2010 both feature on her pedigree page.
Queen Of Bordeaux is lightly raced with just one race start to her name. She ran 2nd on debut over 1400m on a Good track at Goulburn. On 27th March she was walking lame on her near fore with significant effusion of the mid carpal joint of the knee which was painful to flex. Radiographs were taken which revealed Queen Of Bordeaux had a moderately displaced fragmentation of the dorsal aspect of the radial facet of the third carpal bone with severe associated sclerosis and lytic change. Upon recommendation from the vets she is being retired from racing and being offered as a broodmare prospect. Please refer to the vet report attached.
