Description
Hard As is a highly commercial, very talented young mare with massive upside. She had huge potential on the track. “Winner at 2” does no justice to the ability she possessed, she had just the one start, which produced an incredible 7.5 Length victory! She literally could have been anything, but sadly injury curtailed what looked to be a promising future.
She is an extremely well-bred mare, from the multiple stakes winner, OOMPH, making her a half-sister to the dual Group 2 winner, TRUMP and the multiple stakes placed Snoopy. It’s a family continuing to produce black type performers. A Great type of mare too, Hard As was a $210,000 yearling purchase.
There is also huge breeding potential with Hard As. Firstly, she has young horses by Zoustar and Snitzel to race for her, two of the very best sires in the land! She is now being sold in foal to one of the hottest young sires in the country in PIERATA! Already the sire of four individual winners, including the Group 3 winner, Golden Slipper 2nd COLEMAN and Group 3 winning TOBEORNOTTOBE, in addition to three further stakes horses. He has started his career in exceptional fashion, which has certainly been reflected in his yearling sales this year, selling up to $420,000.
