Description
Shamefaced is a young daughter of I Am Invincible’s speedy son Brazen Beau. She is out of the talented Group 1 placed mare, ALMASHOOQA who finish 2nd in the Greyville Golden Slipper as a 2yo. She descends from a strong black type family, which includes Group 1 winners GRIANTE & GRAND JOURNEY.
It’s a family full of commercially bred fillies, which are now visiting some of the best sires in Australia. In 2023 alone, fillies and mares closely related to Shamefaced visited the likes of Zoustar, I Am Invincible, Home Affairs, St Marks Basilica, Trapeze Artist & Too Darn Hot! There is an incredible amount of scope for this pedigree to improve, and this young mare should have a bright future and would be a welcome addition to anyone’s broodmare band looking to build specific families.
She has been afforded a great start by being bred first season to the ultra-proven NICCONI and conceiving on her first cover. Nicconi continues to pile up the winners in impressive fashion. The sire of almost 600 individual winners at an incredible 73% winners to runners. Of course he was responsible for the mighty 9-time Group 1 winner Nature Strip, Group 1 winner Graceful Girl who realised $1.1 Million at last years Chairman’s sale and he’s also the sire of the hugely exciting WA filly Petula. A sire who can produce winners at the rate he is will always be viewed favourably to the Hong Kong market and at domestic yearling sales, which has been clear to see in recent years. Nicconi has sired 17 individual winners in a short space of time in Hong Kong and his yearlings remain in high demand selling for $360k, $270k, $260k etc in the last two years.
