Description

Elderberry is a talented 3yo filly, winning twice and placing a further four times from her eight race starts, which includes a 3rd placing in Saturday metropolitan grade at Caulfield. She was a precocious filly, debuting short in the market in the Group 3 Blue Diamond Prelude (Fillies) after winning both her lead up trials as a 2yo.

She is by Medaglia d’Oro’s son Bolt d’Oro, who was Champion Freshman Sire of 2022 and now stands for US$60,000. She is out of the speedy city winning mare Essence of Terror, who earnt over $300k on the track.

The filly’s racing career is now in major doubt after some concerning changes were discovered in her left-front knee. There is a non-displaced fracture present and some sclerosis of the third-carpal bone. With retirement or surgery recommended, her ownership group is offering the filly to market ahead of the breeding season.
