Description
Scopey and athletic colt by Group 1 Blue Diamond winner and First Season Sire TAGALOA.

Tagaloa stood his first season at Yulong Stud for $33,000 and had 109 live foals from his first crop that sold for up to $240,000 at the 2024 yearling sales.
He was a winner of the Group 1 Blue Diamond over 1200m at 2yo and followed that up with a 2nd the the Group 2 Todman Stakes and a bold 4th in the Group 1 Golden Slipper behind FARNAN. He then trained on at 3yo to win the Group 3 CS Hayes Stakes beating Aysar & Mo'Unga and a very close 3rd in the Group 1 Australian Guineas.
This colt is out of a very well bred German mare in DESSAU (by Leading German Sire Soldier Hollow) who was a Listed and 2yo winner herself. She has had 4 foals to race, for 3 winners in 2 hemispheres including Melbourne city class mare Audrey Girl (who is now at stud and has a weanling colt by So You think and bred back to Toronado), 7x winner in Germany Dialect and a winner in Britain in Dependable. Her 3yo is a gelding by Fastnet Rock called Anhalt that realised $500,000 in the sale ring and he's currently in training with Simon Zahra having showed ability in his first preparation to place on debut prior to being gelded.
This colt has plenty of size and scope and he moves well. He had surgery in August-2023 to remove OCDS from his right and left hocks of which he recovered uneventfully from with a good prognosis.
He does require further surgery to treat OCDs in his stifles (report attached) however the progress to race post surgery is again good and he will be a great project for small trainers to take on.
The colt is available for inspection and Independent vet exams are welcome.
