Description
Hanaady - 5YO Mare by outstanding Darley UK sire Night Of Thunder (Ire) out of Harlequin Girl (GB). Purchased as a 2YO from Shadwell Racing at Tattersall’s Autumn Horses In Training Sale as a Nottingham 2yo winner.
Has raced successfully in Australia being a Melbourne Metro winner over a mile. First attempt at Stakes level in the Centaurea Stakes (L) Morphetville (May 23’) very competitive beaten 3L.
Very good type, from an excellent female line that continues to expand. Dam Harlequin Girl (Where Or When) has produced three winners. Latest being Laoisman, a 4YO full brother to Hanaady who made 375k guineas from Tattersalls October Yearling Sale 2021. He has won his last three starts all at 1200m, starting favourite in each for Newmarket UK trainer Sean Wood.
2nd Dam, Lauren Louise (GB) by Tagula (Ire) has been an outstanding producer including Blaine (GB) winner of G2 Gimrack Stakes at York, Listed winner Bogart (GB), Legal Attack G3 placed in France, Byline (Ire) winner of Bahrain Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup G1, Rocana (GB) dam of Youth Spirit winner of the G3 Chester Vase, and placed in G2 Great Voltigeur Stakes & G2 Vintage Stakes.
Hanaady’s strong female line together with the ability of her family to produce competitive types makes her an excellent Broodmare prospect.
Hanaady sustained a career ending injury which resulted in surgery of her RF fetlock in Dec 2023.
