Description

Melisseus is a well related 3yo Fastnet Rock gelding - being a half to G1 winner, VEGA ONE.

In his race debut at Kyneton on February 13, Melisseus was on the receiving end of significant interference and was forced into the running rail in transit. He pulled up sore following the run and was found to have sustained a minor injury to his near-hind (stifle).

As a result he was confined a brief period of initial box rest before moving to a small yard for 4 weeks and most recently a paddock for the past 4 weeks.

Connections have elected to move him on as he nears the end of his three-year-old season as 3yo Classic races were his aim when purchased.

Over the past month Melisseus has shown no ill-affects from his injury whilst spelling however we would recommend interested purchasers undertake independent vetting - with current records remaining the property of Busuttin Racing.

Melisseus would appear very well placed to make his way through the grades in a slightly weaker jurisdiction and could capitalize on the 'thinner' staying ranks in provincial NSW/QLD/SA.
