Offered for unreserved sale as a broodmare prospect.
Shadowen is a three-year-old filly by Brazen Beau and is the only filly to the races from the Exceed And Excel mare Ellenroh. She is from an outstanding family, with her second dam being the multiple Listed winner Shanara (dam of Group performer Jerle). Her third dam is the Stakes winning, Group 1 placed mare Shadea – dam of the eleven-time Group 1 winner and champion sire Lonhro, and three-time Group 1 winner Niello. Shadowen is also from the same family as Cylinder, Albrecht and Catalyst.
Shadowen is a dual winner on the racetrack from just eight career starts (8:2-1-2) and boasts a win in a $100k maiden race at the Sunshine Coast prior to a metropolitan placing at Doomben behind the Stakes performer Fukubana as well. She is being sold as a breeding only prospect and will be ready to go to the sire of your choice in the upcoming breeding season. She is a rare opportunity to buy a young broodmare from a leading Godolphin family.
Disclosure: Shadowen has a confirmed Keratoma in her front near (left) side hoof that has resulted in her being intermittently lame over the past 4 months. Owners have decided to withdraw from having the Keratoma removed and sell her as a breeding prospect. Should someone wish to race on, removal of the Keratoma was recommended.
Shadowen is currently spelling at Oakwood Farm. Inspections prior to purchase are welcomed.
