Description
A $450,000 Sydney Easter Yearling, Astralis is a half-sister to G2 winner Mella Maria, whose 2YO Snitzel colt Wanaruah won a Randwick trial for Waterhouse & Bott on May 31st.
Their dam, Sayahailmary, ran G1 Cox Plate winner Pinker Pinker to 1.2L in the G2 Angus Armanasco Stakes. Sayahailmary has an Anders yearling colt ($260,000 MM January to Waterhouse & Bott), a Toronado weanling filly & was served by Shamus Award.
Astralis is by Golden Slipper winner Sebring, already the damsire of 10 stakeswinners including G1 winners Griff and On The Bubbles plus 3 other Group winners.
Astralis has superb upside with a yearling filly by Caulfield Guineas and Golden Rose winner Ole Kirk, and a weanling filly by current leading First Crop Sire Too Darn Hot.
This mare sells in foal to the 3-time G1 winner in succession and first season sire, Hitotsu. The resulting foal will be bred on the same Maurice-Southern Halo cross as 2YO SP Morioka. Maurice also has 14 stakeswinners with a duplication of Sunday Silence including G1 winner Geraldina.
