Description
Takashima is a lightly raced (7 starts) easy to handle 3 year old gelding by Russian Revolution out of the Star Witness mare, Divine Messenger her dam is the stakes winner and Group 1 placed Lady's Angel.
Takashima is improving with every start, moving forward his distance range should be 1000m to 1400m and he handles all types of track conditions including wet (ran 2nd twice on a slow track) and synthetic tracks.
Takashima currently stands at approximately 16HH.
Takashima is a sound racehorse in full training with B. & W. & JD.Hayes, he is set to run early July probably in a 58 or 64 class race, his most recent start was 1.5L behind in 70 class, Standard Time Comparison Race Time: 1:10.57 (+9.18L) at his last start on Tuesday 18 June 2024.
Takashima would be a great addition to any stable, he looks to have a bright future, he is also a Racing NSW BOBS (Breeder Owner Bonus Scheme) paid up horse.

On the 26th January, Takashima underwent a dynamic scope to assess the larynx and pharynx during strenuous exercise. The gelding was ridden by Lindsay Park trackwork rider, Gary Walsh, and worked on the polytrack over 1000m, coming home the last final 400m in approximately 25sec, last 200m in 12sec. The horse was graded a 3b LLN on a resting scope. There was evidence of mild to moderate palatial instability, with the PI worse as the horse was decelerating after the gallop and only mild during the gallop.
Takashima has continued to train and race well in a tongue tie/ crossover nose band, he has recorded one win and two seconds this prep and has progressed to run 1.5L behind in 70 class Standard Time Comparison Race Time: 1:10.57 (+9.18L) at his last start on Tuesday 18 June 2024.
