Description
Commercial thoroughbred breeding is as much about timing as it is anything. Lassie provides prospective buyers an offering that combines timing from every angle of the commercial spectrum, all at the same time.
Lassie is out of the Gr3 winner, multiple Gr2 and Gr3 placed BROCKMAN'S LASS who won 7 races in total and is by Champion broodmare sire Encosta De Lago. Lassie is a half sister to LIFE LESSONS, winner of 4 races including the Gr2 VRC Rose of Kingston and 3rd in the Gr1 Empire Rose. At this years Magic Millions National Broodmare sale in May, LIFE LESSONS sold for $1million as a racing and breeding proposition.
Lassie is by All Too Hard who is on a huge run at the moment with his racetrack performers, recently adding to his Gr1 progeny honour role when STEFI MAGNETICA took out the Gr1 Stradbroke Handicap. He is now up to 25 individual stakes winners, five of which are Gr1 winners. Broodmares by All Too Hard this year have sold up to $440,000 through the sales ring.
A maiden mare, Lassie is carrying a positive pregnancy test to an exciting young stallion in Gr1 Golden Slipper winner FARNAN. He is the leading First Season Sire at all major Australian yearlings sales in 2024 with his yearlings been sought after in the market making up to $1.5m.
Lassie suffered from a tendon injury 18 months ago but has since made a full recovery and is paddock sound.
She stands at approximately 16hh.
