Description
Maternal Gift offers a unique opportunity for the commercial breeder.
A winning daughter of the Champion sire Snitzel, Maternal Gift is from the multiple stakes-winning Street Cry mare, Street Secret. This makes her a half-sister to the multiple Gr. 1 Placed Frankely Awesome.
Snitzel mares have left 32 individual stakes winners and three individual Group 1 winners, including the Golden Slipper winner Mossfun, the current top 2yo of New Zealand, Velocious and the current star of Australian racing Celestial Legend.
Maternal Gift is currently in foal to leading sire Dundeel, who stands for $88,000 this year at Arrowfield Stud. Dundeel is a stallion on the move commercially, on the back of his Champion son Militarize taking all before him on the racetrack and now himself a highly commercial stallion; Dundeel yearlings sold up to $1.5m in 2024, and they had an average sale price of just under $188k.
Maternal Gift is a strong, well-made mare with good bone and a lot of quality. She is approx. 16.1hh and is very correct and moves well. Her 2023 Filly by Pierro is a lovely athletic filly who is also very correct, and she is being retained and offered at a premier sale in 2025.
