Description
McCann is a 4YO mare by Snitzel out of the Group 2 winning and Group 1 placed Commands mare, Gregers, who is the dam of 4 foals to race for 2 winners. She hails from the same family as Group 1 Coolmore Classic winner, OfcourseIcan, and Group 1 winner and sire, Gimmethegreenlight. McCann was purchased for $440,000 from the 2021 Magic Millions Yearling Sale.
McCann is lightly raced with just one start to her name. She ran 4th behind Group 2 Percy Sykes Stakes winner Paris Dior on debut over 1100m on a Good track at Canterbury.
McCann injured her NF suspensory in October 2022 which she recovered from and in December 2023 radiographs were taken of her near fore fetlock which revealed moderate osteoarthritic remodeling of the joint and severe sclerosis and lytic change to the medial sesamoid bone and upon the vet’s advice she spelled for 12 weeks. McCann returned to full training at the beginning of July, after a piece of pacework she pulled up lame in her near foreleg and as a result of this ongoing injury she is being offered as a broodmare prospect only.
