HALF-SISTER TO HIGHLY TALENTED 2YO IN FOAL TO STAR TURN DUE IN EARLY AUGUST
For sale is Miss Reef, a daughter of Tavistock and half-sister to 3 individual Stakes performers including the highly talented Stay Focused.
A horse of great promise, Stay Focused was a dominant winner at his 2YO debut, before running 2nd in this year’s Gr.3 Blue Diamond Prelude at his second start, before going on to run 1.4L 5th in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes. He is currently back in work ahead of a spring campaign with Group 1 targets.
Multiple Stakes placed half-sister Miss Moana was covered in 2023 Artorius, with the resulting pregnancy in the exciting sire’s first crop.
Tavistock has fast become a highly sought after broodmare sire, siring the dams of 7 Group winners including Group 1 winners MR BRIGHTSIDE and MERCURIAL, as well as Group 2 winners STRAIGHT ARRON and DRAGON QUEEN.
Miss Reef is in foal with a highly commercial pregnancy to leading sire STAR TURN.
Boasting an elite winners to runners of 72.6%, Star Turn is the sire of 8 individual Stakes winners and a further 9 Stakes horses including Gr.1 winner STARTANTES, Gr.3 winners ALSEPHINA and CORDYCEPS SIX, as well as progressive Stakes winning 2YO this season MEGASTAR HEART. His yearlings in 2024 have subsequently been high in demand, selling up to $360k, $280k, $260k, $240k, $230k etc.
Miss Reef’s breeding career has been ideally set up with 2 proven quality stallions, with a yearling filly by ALL TOO HARD and weanling filly by HEADWATER. She is a very good breeder, going in foal on her first cover in the first week of September each year she has been at stud.
With a nice early due date in just under 2 weeks (5/8), this presents the opportunity for her new buyer to have a foal on the ground out of a well related mare that would be a welcome addition to a commercial broodmare band ahead of this year’s breeding season.
