Description
ATTRACTIVE SAVABEEL MARE IN FOAL TO HITOTSU ON FIRST CROP COVER
For sale is Zauana is a daughter of multiple Group 1 producing broodmare sire SAVABEEL.
A $250,000 NZB Karaka Yearling purchase by Ciaron Maher, Zauana is a very good looking mare who is passing her good looks and quality onto her foals.
Her first foal by King's Legacy was a strong, forward colt and sold for $60,000 at this year's Inglis Classic Sale.
Her weanling colt by WILD RULER is a well above average colt who will be entered for a major yearling sale in 2025 and will be a quality representation of her sire's first crop yearlings.
She is in foal on an October cover to HITOTSU - the history-making triple Group 1 Classic winner and best son of sire sensation MAURICE. Hitotsu covered a full first book of 162 mares at an advertised fee of $22,000.
Of course, the resulting foal will be in Hitotsu's first crop. With the knowledge of the quality this mare puts into her foals, you would think the prospective foal would have plenty of sale options as a yearling.
Zauana's sire Savabeel is a prolific broodmare sire, siring the dams of 31 individual Stakes winners, 19 of which are Group winners including Group 1 winners SAVATOXL, BEAUTY ETEARNAL, WARMONGER, ICEBATH and NEVER BEEN KISSED.
Zauana is the 2nd foal from O'Reilly mare Pander, a half-sister to $1.9M earner and multiple Group 2 and 3 winner PRECEDENCE, a pedigree which also features multiple Group 1 winner and sire TAVISTOCK.
