Description

STRATEGIC POSITION is a lightly-raced 6YO gelding by Star Witness out of Canny Lad mare Defrock, making him a half-brother to multiple Group winner Deprive.

He has had just 19 career starts for 4 wins and 3 placings, earning over $160,000 in prize-money. He finished 2nd at Caulfield over 1100m in December 2021, being narrowly defeated by Listed winner In The Boat. His most recent win came at a Saturday meeting at Doomben over 1050m in November 2022.

This preparation he trialled very well, winning his first trial and then finished 2nd behind Beaux Rumble, beating home Group 1 winner Magic Time in 3rd. Unfortunately he wasn't able to translate those performances to the races and the large ownership group have elected to list him for sale.

Please note, he currently has a 'Not To Race (Vet Certificate)' after he pulled up lame in the near fore (2/5) at his latest start at Grafton (Vet clearance PTNS).
