Description
CHURCHILL X TAMIEKA
Here’s an opportunity to secure a nice 2YO by the ultra-consistent CHURCHILL. By the incomparable GALILEO, he was European Champion 2YO, winning 4 x Gr.1 races in his career, including the Dewhurst Stakes (7F) as one of the five (5) races he won as a 2YO, before winning both the English and Irish 2000 Guineas as a 3YO. He looks to have passed onto his progeny both the outstanding 2YO ability he had, and the ability to train on and be a dual Classic winning 3YO.
He has sired 3 x Gr.1 winners already in his short career, including Gr.1 winning European Champions VADENI (Eclipse Stakes and French Derby), and BLUE ROSE CEN (French 1000 Guineas, Prix Marcel Boussac, Prix de Diane, Prix de l’Opera). In Australia, his first crop includes the Gr.1 MRC Toorak Handicap winner ATTRITION, and he has shown his versatility by siring the winner of this season’s 2YO BRC The Phoenix L. in IMPERIALIST. He also has FIRST IMMORTAL (MRC Anniversary Vase L.) and MORE FELONS (ATC Parramatta Cup L.) as stakes winners this season, and he has the exciting South of India (5 wins from 6 starts), and Robusto (6 wins) currently flying the flag for him, as we head into the new racing season.
The filly herself is out of a winning VISCOUNT mare that has had eight (8) to the track for six (6) winners, so is doing a great job at stud. She is a ½ sister to twelve (12) time winner and stakes placegetter Freddie Fox Trot, and there are the winners of over thirty (30) races in the first dam alone, so it’s a real winning family. The 2nd dam Gypsy Mai is also stakes placed, and she in turn is the dam of the L. Canberra Guineas winner, ROM BARO, and he won seven (7) races in total between Aus and HK, and over HK$5.5M when he raced over there. There are seven (7) individual winners of forty (40) races from her progeny, so she did a wonderful job at stud before her retirement.
Further down in the family is the Gr.3 Gold Coast Guineas winner BEETHOG, and she is the dam of GLISTENING, who won the Gr.2 Riesling Stakes, and the Moomba Plate L. in her short career. The filly has been well-handled as she progressed through the MVL system, but due to the owners reducing numbers, she is currently un-broken.
