Description
Here is your opportunity to purchase a mare who possess a stack of ability and holds a strong page for the breeding barn.
Labhuku is a Victorian Metropolitan placed mare who unfortunately hasn’t made it back from knee surgery and has been prematurely retired ready to become an amazing addition to someone’s breeding portfolio. She has always shown minimum Saturday class ability and the form around her reflects that. With her career cut short while still learning her craft she managed 5 starts for a win and 3 other placings. We firmly believe that Labhuku had A LOT more to offer and her retirement has been a hard pill to swallow.
Her most recent first up Sandown run 28/2/24 she was nutted on the line for a 2nd 0.2L to HAZEL BABY $235,000pm earner and beat home the group 3 placed TASS. The form around her is good beating home horses like SEE WHAT I SEE, DAILY BUGLE and right alongside others like Incinvible shield, furious etc.
Labhuku is a very good looking, powerful and athletic horse. She has a lot of size and substance. She has everything in all the right places, a big girth, huge hip, lovely shoulder, attractive head, great walk and stands around 16.1hh. She has almost a text book perfect attitude for a racehorse, smart, willing, bit of sass, honest, bit of tomboy about her and super tough.
Labhuku’ s 1st dam Lebombo is a half sister to the stallion ILOVETHISCITY which stands a lot of attention on her page. The page is still active and has improvement to come, Lebombo’s other half sister by I’m invincible ‘Lipstick Lover’ has a very promising Dundeel gelding called “Regal Lover’ in the stokes yard back in work ready to make his mark on spring. Not only does Labhuku’s dam line boast a lot of quality her cross is the most successful Press statement cross you can find with the double Sir Tristram either side. Breeders only have to take a quick glance to see that her page will work beautifully with an array of different commercial stallions Australia wide.
All inspections welcome, Labhuku is currently at Pakenham Racing Club and has been in our care since a yearling and has been very well look after throughout her career. We have no doubt she will throw all of her outstanding attributes into her offspring.
She is being sold as a broodmare only, she is retired and is no longer a racing option. Labhuku will be sold with a reserve as we believe in this mare and we are happy to keep her and breed with her if she doesn’t fetch her worth.
