FASTNET ROCK FULL-SISTER TO GROUP 1 WINNER IN FOAL TO ARTORIUS

For sale is Crescent, a Fastnet Rock full-sister to Group 1 Caulfield Guineas winner ROCK CLASSIC.

Already proving her commercial appeal, her 3YO by Cosmic Force named Rocky Mountain, sold for $170,000 at the 2023 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale to astute yearling judges Paul Moroney and Catherine Bruggeman.

Her Tiger of Malay yearling filly is also of good quality and will be aimed at a major yearling sale in 2025.

Showcasing her family’s ability to produce Stakes horses, her full-sister Orphea’s first foal by Tavistock named OUTOVSTOCK is a Group 3 winner.

Her pedigree is also highlighted be her Gr.1 winning 2nd dam MIDNIGHT FEVER, as well as stakes winner WOPPITT, GREYWORK, ASTRODAME, CANDIKA, ULMAN, MAHISARA etc.

A prolific broodmare sire, Fastnet Rock is the sire of the dams of 122 individual Stakes winners, 77 of which are Group winners including 13 Group 1 winners highlighted by SANTA ANA LANE, ZOUGOTCHA, JOLIESTAR etc.

A reflection of her quality, Crescent was a $280,000 NZB Karaka yearling purchase.

Crescent is in foal on a 5th of October cover to Group 1 Blue Diamond and Canterbury Stakes winner ARTORIUS who stands for $22,000. With the Australian market’s strong emphasis on first season sires, the prospective foal being in Artorius’s first crop out of a well related mare makes for strong commercial appeal.

With a nice early due date in just over 3 weeks, this presents the opportunity for her new buyer to have a foal on the ground out of a well related mare that would be a welcome addition to a commercial broodmare band ahead of this year’s breeding season.
