6yo Bay or Brown Gelding by TORONADO (IRE) out of WATCH YOUR STEP
• SCISSOR STEP is a G3 placed 6yo who is a versatile sprinter with an impressive record of 11x top three placings from 28 starts earning over $550,000 in prize money.
• Scissor Step raced four times as a 2yo where he finished third on debut after leading with a fast tempo. He then broke his maiden at his second start at Ballarat with ease by 2L. At his third start he finished third in the rich VOBIS Gold Rush at Bendigo and followed that by running third in the $1 million VOBIS Showdown.
• As a 3yo, SCISSOR STEP ran a very credible fourth in the G3 Blue Sapphire and second in the G3 Red Anchor. In his third preparation, he won first-up at Caulfield where he came from last, proving his versatility to perform well both on the speed and off.
• SCISSOR STEP is a very impressive horse and is being sold by his owners who would like to focus on their younger stock. He has a huge amount of racing upside and only recently went to the paddock to spell with his last race being on the 4th of August – so retains plenty of residual fitness after a freshen up.
• He has had previous throat surgery to laser his folds (October 2023) and an arthroscopy left radiocarpal joint (August 2023).
• SCISSOR STEP is a half-brother to the quality sprinter-miler STEPARTY who won the G3 Guineas Prelude defeating subsequent G1 winner SOUTHPORT TYCOON and went on to place third in the G1 Caulfield Guineas. SCISSOR STEP’s pedigree also includes stakes winners such as TAIKUN, SUPER GROOVE, BIG PARTY and RIGHT TO PARTY.
