Description

Although Princess Aliyana is a 5yo, she has had just 3 race starts and underwent little training until she was a 4yo. This wasn’t due to injury, she was simply spelling in New Zealand before being acquired + moved to Australia. She showed some potential in her early jumpouts, improving with each piece of work but hasn’t fired to date on raceday and will be better suited in a weaker jurisdiction

By Sweet Orange and out of Paulette, it makes her a full-sister to the Group 2-winning and Group 1-placed Daqiansweet Junior, who also finished 5th in the Group 1 Melbourne Cup.

The mare came through her latest run at Sale without issue, with her jockey electing to ease her out of the race on the corner under the impression she wouldn’t have been in the finish. She was moved to Phillip Stokes’ farm in the days following and has been spelling since.
