Description
SLUSH FUND has been a fun and frustrating horse for his owners over the past few racing seasons. He recorded 2 race wins and 2 placings from his 14 starts and $47,485.
BUT - His record should read better. He has run 4th or 5th on another 6 occasions. He is a one dimensional galloper and he needs to be put on speed, yet for some unknown reason and against instructions he keeps finding himself back in the field.
To be fair to his jockeys, the rides have been genuine 11 out of 10 jobs – for most horses. But Slushie is a horse that likes clear galloping room and when he finds his way near the speed, he can really tough it out.
Slush Fund has his hoof right on the till, his last four runs have been terrific.

Our owners now accept that as a rising 4yo, that is not destined for metro racing and is proving difficult to place, it’s time to say goodbye. He is a horse that appreciates being on top of the ground and unfortunately Slush Fund has found soft tracks all prep. With a turn in the weather, if you place him to advantage, he’s ready to get his mojo back.
