Description
Vandemoer was purchased as a yearling for $150k, and she has always been an exceptional sprinting type. From day one, she showed tremendous ability, so much so that her first trainer, Michael Shepherdson, chose to debut her at Caulfield on a Saturday, where she ran a superb race, finishing a close 4th. Vandemoer was given time as a 2-year-old, during which she did some dressage, and we spelled her when she needed a break.
After a bleeding incident, we decided to send her to a warmer climate for training and racing. She won a trial at Belmont in impressive fashion under Simon Miller, and it was clear she had serious potential. You can find the link to the trial vision below.
Sadly, she bled more than once, which was a great disappointment considering her ability. However, I am confident she will pass on her speed and striking appearance as a broodmare. We wish the new owner the very best with this remarkable mare.
