Aperol Blitz is a half-sister to star galloper Vow and Declare (Champion Stayer in Australia in 2019-20, Group 1 Melbourne Cup hero and the winner of over 7.6 million in prize money) as well as Listed winner Lycurgus, who is a 6-time winner and has collected just shy of $500,000.
From the strong family of Group 1 winners Hauraki and Kidnapped, she has no less than 11 black type performers on her page and offers a fantastic opportunity, at the right time of year, to become a highly valued broodmare.
She has 3 sisters at stud in the early part of their broodmare careers and also a 2YO half-sister by Too Darn Hot that has been retained to race and will go into training with Graham Begg.
Aperol Blitz is hard to fault as a type. She is a correct, attractive type with good length and scope. She stands approximately 16hh and is a lovely mover with plenty of presence.
A handy racehorse herself winning on debut over 1100m, she went on to place a further 5 times from just 7 starts, including a 3rd at metropolitan level beaten just 0.6L.
Unfortunately, she has tweaked her right hind suspensory for the second time and will be offered as a breeding proposition only.
