Description
SOME SHEILA is arguably the best rated mare in this sale.
Currently rated 55, she has two wins in her at 58 level and will be more than competitive at BM64 level in Victoria.
A metro placed filly last year behind VON HAUKE (who runs in the Paris Lane Stakes on Saturday), SOME SHEILA has been a frustrating mare with her performances belying her ability.
Her highest rated performance was a 4th at Sandown In November 2023 before winning at Geelong and the running second in a strong Pakenham BM64 race.
Nothing has gone right for her in 2024. She should have won at Seymour when beaten a lip by Allgemeine over 1400m on a Soft track. Her two runs on the polytrack at Pakenham and Ballarat this time in confirmed that she is more at home on the turf (having performed equally well on good, soft and heavy tracks).
A sound mare, she has plenty of racing upside and is ready to be winning in the coming weeks.
