Description
LONG MEMORY (NZ) 5yo Bay Mare by LONHRO from REMIND ME (GB).
Purchased as a yearling with mile + races in mind, LONG MEMORY proved again how fickle genetics can be. A total mystery with this mare winning at Hawkesbury over 1100m.
Frustrating is a very polite and politically correct way to describe the mare.
Our owners want city class racehorses and LONG MEMORY has proven not to be at this level.
Now that she is a 5yo, the time has come to say goodbye. She must be on-sold to make room for others.
Promised the world – delivered an atlas so far. Won at her second career start and finished that preparation with four fourths in a row.
Time, patience (and money) she was brought back into work with big hopes for this prep. Showed nothing first two runs back with our city trainer, then sent to our country trainer for some easy wins and again she did nothing. As such we have advised our Ownership Team not to persevere any longer.
No more! Out the door she goes! We can find no reasons why she is not winning except a lack of desire.
Choices were Sell or Spell – put to a vote the answer was a unanimous SELL (Unreserved).
Her terrific team of owners are ready to buy into new yearlings, not to race on with a horse who has no reason not to be putting in a genuine effort.
Having been given every opportunity to date, she has shown she is capable of winning at the provincial level which should translate to winning in the bush, but we believe tougher environments are beyond her.
Pedigree page is super, lovely type, will make a terrific broodmare, but in the meantime, if you think you can turn her around on the track, there is no reason not to have a crack! After all she works and trials like Tarzan but unfortunately, all we seem to get is Jane on race day.
Whilst we openly share the above details, we always recommend potential purchasers should arrange their own vet inspection to rely upon.
As with all Dynamic Syndications managed horses she is offered unreserved to dissolve the co-ownership and is on the market from the opening bid.
