Description
By Russian Resolution, out of Encinitas (a half-sister to ten-time winner ENTERPRISING), Vilnius has been a relatively consistent gelding for his ownership group.
Breaking his maiden at his third start over 1,530 metres, he is lightly raced having had only the ten starts and two preparations racing at city level. After running in the top five for all of his six starts in his first preparation, including at Moonee Valley, he went to the paddock for a well-deserved break. He ran well first up at Canterbury on the 7th of August before missing runs due to wet tracks in the latter part of the preparation and then failing on a very wet track at his most recent start.
Vilnius went to the paddock on the 23rd of October and could continue with another preparation under the current ownership however they have elected to instead concentrate on younger horses coming through. With a change of scenery, this gelding should provide the new ownership group with some fun and certainly be competitive in lower graded company.
