Description
A daughter of Frankel, Fretta represents an exceptional broodmare opportunity. While her sire needs little introduction, her pedigree is strong through her dam side. She is out of South African G2-winner & G1-placed mare Alderry, who has produced six winners from six foals. Adding further substance, Fretta is a half-sibling to 3 individual Stakes winners, including G1 winner Al Sahem.
On the racetrack, Fretta was highly talented, winning dominantly on debut at Metropolitan level before going on to win her second start in impressive fashion. Unfortunately, her promising career was at times hampered by knee issues, leaving the sense that her full potential remained untapped. The mare was turned out to a paddock at Hannover Lodge after a bone chip was found in her knee following her last run on November 9.
Physically, she presents as an outstanding broodmare prospect. Standing at 16.3hh and weighing in at 510kgs, she has plenty of size and scope. Fretta will be a valuable addition to any broodmare band.
